ELEVATED LIVER ENZYMES (ALT/AST): No preparation required. Blood is drawn.

BONE MINERAL DENSITY (Osteoporosis screening): Expose one foot and place the barefoot on an ultra-sound machine for five minutes.

ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM: Wear two piece loose fitting outfit. Fast for four hours or eat a diabetic breakfast. Take meds as directed. While on your back a gel is applied and a transducer run over the abdomen. About 5 minutes.

CAROTID ARTERY DISEASE: Wear a shirt that exposes the neck. While on your back a gel is applied to the neck and a transducer is run over the neck to create an image of the carotid artery. About 10 minutes.

ARTERIAL FIBRILLATION: Wear comfortable loose fitting (two pieces) clothing. Do not wear lotions or oils, a watch or pantyhose. Cell phone off.
